The Rotary Club of Dalian held its Charter Celebration on May 21st at the Hilton/Conrad Hotel in Dalian. The RC of Pudong Lujazui was there to congratulate and celebrate. The charter celebration was attended by about 200 Rotarians, Roteracters, family and friends including RI Past President Gary Huang. The aftershow celebration and fellowship lasted until past midnight.

At the morning of the Charter, President Elect Robert Ploeger gave proof of his captain skills. The RC of Dalian had invited to a sailing tour around the West Dalian Islands. About 20 adventurous embarked on this journey in beautiful sunshine on a 40 foot catamaran. RC Dalian provided food and drinks and made it a joyful journey.

The Charter event was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton in Dalian. Traditional instruments, drums and dragon dance gave a frame for the event. First part of the evening were the greetings from RC Dalian, Beijing, Worpswede and the District. Second was the handover of the Charter Certificate and the induction of the members. Third was the presentation of first projects, such as a library project and gift of (dutch) bikes. The evening ended with live Jazz at the Aftershow Party in the Conrad Bar.
